I have the honour to refer to the last

paragraph of my despatch No.111 of 29th February, 1940,

and to request, in accordance with Colonial Regulation

No.265, your covering approval of additional expenditure

of the sum of $29,000 under Head 6, Defence, A., Volunteer

Defence Corps, Special Expenditure, Mobilization Stores.

The reasons for this additional expenditure are расаза

set out in my despatch referred to above. A supplementary

vote for this amount has already been approved by the

Finance Committee of the Legislative Council in Finance

Message No.2 of 1940-1941, estimates 1940-1941, Item
